2022 Cowhorn Viognier, Rogue Valley, Oregon, USA
ABOUT THIS WINE
This Viognier is a true representation of the region. Extremely cool nights and hot days throughout the growing season allowed acidity and minerality to maintain at a level that is unexpected in Viognier, while still showcasing the generous floral and tropical fruit notes. An earlier pick brought forth minerality, and a kiwi-like tartness, while the middle pick provided beautiful floral aromatics, and the riper pick provided a rich texture and tropical fruit notes. It was naturally fermented in neutral oak, and left on lees for 6 months before bottling.
