2019 Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf du Pape "Cuvee Exceptionnelle", Rhône Valley, France
ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2019 "Cuvée Exceptionnelle" from Domaine du Vieux Lazaret is only produced during exceptional vintage years using a strict selection of the estate's finest plots. This wine is crafted from a traditional blend of classic Rhône varieties, typically featuring Grenache, Syrah, and Counoise. Grapes are completely destemmed and meticulously sorted before going into the vats. Next, the wine undergoes fermentation and maceration for approximately 25 days, with regular pumping-over to extract optimal aromas and tannins. The aging process occurs in two distinct phases, starting in traditional concrete vats and finishing with extended maturation in oak barrels. This precise process is personally approved by the Quiot family to maximize the wine's elegance, finesse, and balance.
